Pegaso 650 Trail

Tips: New to the Forum? Or maybe haven't checked out the FAQ?

There's a ton of info there that can help you get more out of the HUBB, like how to get an email notification when someone has answered
YOUR question, or how to follow a thread of interest. It's also helpful to all to put your location in your profile, so when you ask
a question that's geographically dependent, people know where you are and can give a MUCH better answer.

Aprilia Pegaso 650 Trail

I am in the market for a used bike on a budget and the opportunity has arisen to buy a very nice 2009 Pegaso with only 25,000k. I've been reading the old forums here comparing it with the Yamaha 660 XT, which I found out share the same engine, and the Transalp. Both of those forums are very old though. On my budget, and in my location, (Santiago, Chile) my choices are pretty much the Aprilia, old high mile 650 GS, and newer Honda 300XRE. My riding will be a combination of city, highway and off road either solo or 2 up and likely with luggage too so I need something comfortable, powerful, relatively light weight and capable of easily maintaining 120kph. I own a 2015 G650GS with under 3000 miles in the states and it is a good bike but my options in Chile are much older bikes with over 60,000k. My question is, are there any Peg riders still out there that can give me an idea as to the reliability and longevity of your machines and have you had any problems finding parts for them?

Hi

I have a peg, 35000 miles is 2009 660 engine had it 2 years. In 2 years no problems. They can have fuel pump issues (documented on the forums) reasonably easy fix but you need to take the tank of to do it. Very happy with mine.

Good luck

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
